327 Bear-san Asks for a Letter of Introduction.

When I woke up in the morning, Karina was hugging me while sleeping. Swaying Bear, whom she was hugging before going to bed, was curled up and sleeping next to Karina. Whether it’s glad to be released or lonely, only Swaying Bear knows.

By the way, Hugging Bear was comfortably sleeping on my arm.

For the time being, I decided to wake everyone up.

After finishing our breakfast, Balima-san asked me to come to the office when I was about to go out. It seems that there are many things he wants to talk about in this case.

Karina came together with me, but she didn’t get permission from Balima-san so she couldn’t enter.

[Once again, thank you, Yuna-san. I have no other words of gratitude. Karina also has a smile on her face now. This is all thanks to Yuna-san. For the past few days, Karina has been blaming herself. There were also times she was crying in her room, and she wouldn’t come out no matter how much we called her. As a parent, it felt bad when I couldn’t even comfort my own daughter or soothe her heart. But Yuna-san saved Karina’s heart. I’m really thankful to you.] Balima

When I first met her, Karina felt like she had a dead expression. But Karina was trying to do her best. And I think Karina did her best with that small body.

She didn’t run away even in front of the monsters, and she didn’t even whine. If you were a child in that situation, you might have said you don’t want to go because you’re scared. You may have acted on your own. But Karina didn’t do that. She knew exactly what we were doing and didn’t bother us.

When I told her about that, she looked very happy.

[So Yuna-san. Are you sure you want to borrow a guild card reader? If so then let me use my guild card reader.] Balima

Mine would be treated as the King’s request, but what about Jade-san and others?

I handed my guild card to Balima-san. Balima-san, who received it, placed the guild card on the crystal plate, then operated the crystal plate. The process ended easily, and he returned the guild card to the mouth of my Bear Puppet.

[Yuna-san doesn’t want anyone to know about the Scorpion, so I’ll put it as part of the Kraken magic stone delivery.] Balima

[You mean, the only ones who knew were you, the guild master, and a handful of people?] Yuna

[Yes, and if there is a case where the proof of the subjugation record is asked, I and Follout-sama will handle it.] Balima

[What about His Majesty the King?] Yuna

[Please give this letter to Follout-sama. I’ve written it here. He might want to see the Scorpion.] Balima

In other words, the letter is about the Scorpion. I can’t get Balima-san to write a false report, so it can’t be helped this time.

But the King.

I’ll definitely show it to him. The King should not say anything, so I think I can feel relieved in that part. So far, neither the story of me killing 10,000 monsters nor the story of killing Kraken has spread throughout the royal capital.

However, it will definitely be known by Eleanora-san. In that case, it means eventually it will be known to Cliff like a chain.

Still, will Cliff say something?

[So, I would also like Yuna-san to give my thanks to Follout-sama.] Balima

[Sure, I’ll give it to His Majesty the King, so it’s okay.] Yuna

It is planned that I’ll receive money from the King. It also includes the cost of Kraken’s magic stone. It’s the money from the country anyways. If it’s from a King, it shouldn’t hurt him.

Not even an itch.

[No, the request was supposed to be the delivery of a magic stone. Finding the crystal plate and replacing the magic stones are separate matters. In addition, Yuna-san is the one who defeated the big Scorpion. I can’t let you go home without properly thanking you.] Balima

[Don’t worry about it, Balima-san. You didn’t even know that a big Scorpion was there. If I sell the materials, it will become money and about the replacing of magic stones, I only followed Karina.] Yuna

I almost did nothing during the switching of magic stones. I just got on top of Hugging Bear and followed Karina’s instructions.

[It’s different. Yuna-san should be aware of what you did.] Balima

I know what you’re saying, but I don’t like to be condescending. If he’s a dirty businessman, then he’s asking for it, but he’s Karina’s father, and he’s not a bad person.

But no matter how much I refuse, Balima-san just won’t listen. Just say thank you and be done with it.

Today I was thinking of heading to the commercial guild to buy a house so I can set up a Bear Gate.

As a result of searching for a good location to set up the Bear Gate, I decided to buy a house in the city.

I thought the pyramid or in the middle of the desert would be a good location, but I couldn’t do it considering the monsters and human perception. So it was better to buy a small house in the city and set up a Bear Gate in it.

There I came up with a good idea.

[Then, can you write a letter of introduction to the commercial guild?] Yuna

[A letter of introduction to the commercial guild?] Balima

[Yeah, I was thinking of buying a house in this town. You see, I look like this.] Yuna

I showed my appearance to Balima-san.

[Bear-san, huh.] Balima

[So, whenever I stay at an inn, people look at me with strange eyes, so I think I’ll buy  a house so I’ll have somewhere I can stay whenever I come to this town.] Yuna

[Etto, can’t you just look normal?.] Balima

I usually think so too. But I answered the question immediately.

[I won’t.] Yuna

I want to, but I don’t have the courage to stay at an inn as a normal human. If I take off Bear Costume, I’ll become weaker than a normal girl. Even if I’m at home, I can’t do it because I’m scared of being in a normal outfit.

And I can’t install a Bear Gate in the inn.

[And even if I say I want a house, I don’t know whether it looks good, I might get looked down because of how young I look, and I do not want those strange houses in strange places to be pushed at me.] Yuna

I made excuses so I can set up a Bear Gate.

Besides, until now, the purchase of a property has been done with the help of others, except in Crimonia.

In the royal capital, there were Gran-san and Eleanora-san.

Atora-san in the town of Mereera.

In the city of Larouze, Letobert-san gave me a home.

And at the Elf Village, I got permission from Mumroot-san.

That’s why I was able to build Bear Houses or acquire houses without any problems.

So, if I want to buy a house in this city, I should be able to buy it without any trouble if I have a letter from Balima-san.

[Why are you buying a house, when you’re not living in there?] Balima

[It’s just a small house. I promised to visit Karina as well.] Yuna

[In that case, it doesn’t matter if you stay at my house. Then my daughter will be happy too.] Balima

If that is the case, I cannot set up a Bear Gate just like at the inn.

[I don’t know how long it will take to get to this town, which may be annoying…] Yuna

Well, another excuse…

[I don’t think it’s annoying. ……I see I understand. I’ve been persistently inviting you, so I’ll write a letter of introduction to the commercial guild.] Balima

Balima-san suddenly changes his mind and writes a letter of introduction to the Commercial Guild. He’s probably wondering why a girl dressed as a bear didn’t want to stay at his house?

When I think about it that way, I’m a little sad.

And Balima-san gave me a letter of introduction.

[Thank you.] Yuna

[No, I’m the one who should thank you.] Balima

I asked Balima-san about the location of the commercial guild and left the room. I decided to head to the Commercial Guild.

Karina stood in the hallway.

[What did you discuss with my father?] Karina

[It’s about rewards. He thanked me for defeating the Scorpion.] Yuna

[If that’s the case, I think it would have been nice if I could talk to you as well.] Karina

[You don’t want to see the adult’s business, right? Perhaps I might ask Balima-san a lot.] Yuna

Some people may call it unreasonable gratitude.

[Yuna-san, did you make various requests to my father?!] Karina

[No, I didn’t. When I told him I didn’t need it, Balima-san got angry. He should be aware of what you did. He’s such a good Father.] Yuna

When I praised Balima-san, Karina replied with a big smile, [Yes].

Then I went to the commercial guild to buy the house on schedule. Karina is walking beside me.

[Even if you don’t tag along, I won’t go home without saying a word.] Yuna

When I said I’m heading out, Karina came with me. When I went out, she said, [Don’t go home yet.]

[Then where are you going?] Karina

Karina doubtfully asks me.

You don’t trust me, do you?

But if I said I want to buy a house, I don’t want to be told [just stay at our house], like Balima-san, so I was silent. Besides, it wasn’t a situation where I could lie.

[At the commercial guild. There’s something I want to buy.] Yuna

[Something you want to buy? Like what?] Karina

[A house. A place to stay when I come here. When I stay in an inn, I will be stared at, so it’s very troublesome.] Yuna

[If so, then please stay at my house.] Karina

I can’t lie, after all, thus this happened. So I got silent.

[I would be a bother. I don’t want to bother you guys whenever I come to this town, also I’ll let you stay overnight.] Yuna

[You’re not a bother. You won’t be needing a house.] Karina

[Yeah, sure for now, but I’m not sure for how long would it be.] Yuna

(TN: Credits to Sky Zenith.)

Isn’t Karina’s deception skills getting better?

We arrived at the Commercial Guild.

By the way, while going to the commercial guild, there was a moment when I got surrounded by children. When I held Karina in a princess carry style and ran away, Karina got angry at me again.

Why? Even though I’m not jumping.

[This is the commercial guild. I wish I will get a good house.] Yuna

The commercial guild was unexpectedly close to the adventurer’s guild where I first met Karina.

[I have a letter of introduction from Balima-san so I’m all set.] Yuna

[If something happens, I will try my best.] Karina

[Karina, don’t do your best.] Yuna

[Wha…, why?!] Karina

With a little anger, she protested. I explained why.

[I don’t want Karina to become a child who misuses the power of her parents. Karina should not grow up as an adult who just gives orders. I want you to become an adult who’s thoughtful and giving instructions.] Yuna

[I… I understand. I will stay silent.] Karina

Whether it’s Karina or Noah, I want them to grow up without misusing the power of their parents from a young age. When they grow up, they will inherit the power of their parents.

At a young age, they shouldn’t learn much about commands and obeying. When they grow up, they’ll lose compassion for others.

But I think it’s okay if you look at Balima-san and Karina now. However, this time it’ll be a problem if she used her authority in the commercial guild, so I asked Karina to shut up.

I have a letter of introduction from Balima-san and it should be enough.

      1. Well we got a line up of dange.*ehem* average lolis that creates potions, “just everyday” viscount, average, and a bear so I think common sense chan should dig up until the earth’s core i guess…

  1. Thanks for the chapter! For the ‘sono toki wa, sono toki da yo’ part, it’s something along the lines of ‘For now, I won’t be a bother sure’ with a connotation of ‘but I’m not sure that would be the case in the future’. Not really a translator so I’m not sure how you would phrase that but good luck!

    Keep up the good work guys!

  2. [times she’s crying] -> {times she was crying}/{times she cried}
    [room, she won’t come] -> {room, and she wouldn’t come}
    [Yes, If there] -> {Yes, and if there}/{Yes. If there}
    [There I’ll come up with good things] -> {There I came up with a good idea} ~ maybe?
    [at an inn in as a normal] -> {at an inn as a normal}
    [of how my age looks] -> {of how young I look}
    [way, I’m a little sad] -> {way, you would be a little sad} ~ maybe?
    [Balima-san, So I was silent, but] -> {Balima-san, so I was silent. Besides}
    [At the moment, at the moment] -> {We’ll cross that bridge when we get there}/{We’ll think about it when the time comes} ~ a google search (not translate) found some options;
    [I wish I get a good] -> {I wish I will get a good}
    [thoughtful and giving instructions] -> {thoughtful about giving instructions}/{thoughtful and gives good instructions}

    Yup, Karina is getting kuma addiction. Those bear plushies might not be enough anymore, and the desire for magical adorable bears, and the bear girl, might get too stronk. Yuna should be more careful with the princess carry, it’s too effective.
    Thanks for the chapter! Awesome translation! God bless you!

      1. It’s fine, I didn’t check the original JP text so my suggestions are mostly made by guessing. It’s always best to check more options and opinions anyway.
        Glad it helps. Take care.

    1. Yuna simply seems to relate to adults in this world fairly well in a few instances–but NOT very many. I guess she’s affected by the ghosts of having no love or respect for adults back in Japan except for her Grandfather. Women, she seems to get on with better though Yuna does seem to get leery of women with eccentricities like the Crimonia Commerce guildmaster, Lady Eleanor, the elvish capital adventurers guildmaster,

      Yuna doesn’t seem to relate well to her peers either, at least upon first encounter (as you may recall, her relationships with her peers in Japan were very, very bad). However, though first encounters with people her age tend to be rocky (the cook she lured to her shop from Mierra being an exception), the prickly bear-san has developed warm friendships with Shia and her classmates, Princess Tillia, the new adventurers party (Shin, Latte, Brute and The Horn), etc. once they manage to get past Yuna’s defenses.

  3. “so I asked Karina to shut up.”

    Wording please, you said “silent” first, bot now Yuna asked a loli “SHUP UP” (even if it was an inner monologue of Yuna).
